One of the most common fun workout style that consists of 8 rounds of 20 seconds of work, followed by 10 seconds of rest in 4 minutes.
This training workout is modeled by Japanese professor Dr. Izumi Tabata. He was finding ways to train Japanese Olympics speed skating team.
To test this program, he conducted research on two teams.
The first group trained at moderate intensity for 5 days workouts/week while the second group trained at high intensity for 4 days/week till 6 weeks.
In the moderate intensity group, each workout lasted for one hour, while in the high-intensity group, each workout lasts for 4 minutes – 20 seconds work with 10 seconds of rest in between 8 sets.
And after 6 weeks, results come that first group has increased their aerobic system (cardiovascular), but little or no results on the anaerobic system (muscles).
Group 2 shows a great increase in their aerobic system than group 1 and increased anaerobic system by 28 percent.
So it’s clearly shown that high-intensity Tabata training on music beats has more impact than any other workouts.
Doing such workouts don’t only improve strength and burn fat, but also save your time.
It’s great for the people who don’t like to sweat for longer hours.
Structure of Tabata Workout –
- Workout hard for 20 seconds
- Rest for 10 seconds
- For 8 rounds
You can select any exercise of your wishes like squats, push-ups, Burpees, jumps, or any other moves that work fast.
An Example of Tabata Workout –
- Squats (4 minutes)
- Push-ups (4 minutes)
- Burpees (4 minutes)
- Mountain climbers (4 minutes)
Start with squats, practice squats for 20 seconds at a higher intensity, and then rest for 10 seconds. Again go back to squats for the next 20 seconds.
Complete 8 sets of squats with one minute of rest.
Next, move to push-ups and repeat the same.
This will help you to improve endurance and speed. For fast results, incorporate this workout into your daily fitness routine.
